Barratt submits plans for Country Park development in Salisbury

Barratt Homes has submitted plans for a new development including 525 homes on the 126-acre Country Park at Hampton Park in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

The planning application follows Wiltshire council’s approval in November 2009 to submit its South Wiltshire Core Strategy to the Secretary of State.

The blueprint sets out where development should take place in Salisbury to 2026, with land at Hampton Park forming part of the council’s strategy for strategic housing growth.

Wiltshire council is set to make a decision on the plans in 2010.  If approved, the first homes could be completed by mid 2012.

Rob Phillips, planning manager at Barratt Homes, said: “Our proposal for Hampton Park II seeks to provide much-needed new homes in Salisbury as part of a master-planned and high-quality development. But what really makes this plan stand out is the provision of a new country park on what is currently private land.”

Architects for the Hampton Park II scheme are Brighton-based practice MLRS, with Savills’ Southampton office leading on planning.
