Barratt submits plans to extend Harlow Gateway scheme

Barratt Homes has submitted plans to extend its £50.1m Harlow Gateway regeneration scheme by a further 220 homes.

The site, located on the Essex town’s 27-acre former dry ski slope and football ground, was given planning permission in 2004 for 530 houses.

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and the East of England Regional Assembly (EERA) launched a public exhibition of the plans in Chelmsford this week.

The East of England Development Agency has also donated £2.9m funding to scheme for sustainable housing.

Harlow Renaissance and its partners, Harlow council, Essex council, English Partnerships and the East of England Development Agency have recently shortlisted four companies – London & Regional, Modus Developments, Stockland Halladale and Warner Estate – for the regeneration of the adjacent Market Square.
