Barton Willmore gets go-ahead in Exeter

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore has secured outline planning consent for 63 homes in Millbrook Village, Exeter, on behalf of developers Urban Renaissance Villages and Helical Bar.

The project will be built on the former St Loyes Foundation site and will consist of two, three- and four- bedroom homes that will sit alongside an earlier retirement project the company did this year that included 135 retirement dwellings.

Amenities on the scheme will include a bar, restaurant, library, swimming pool and shop on the northern part of the site.

The scheme is also aiming to achieve Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and 10% of the predicted energy demand will be met by on-site renewable energy through a range of methods.

Guy Flintoft, director at Barton Willmore, said: “These new homes will ensure that this site become a truly mixed community where families can live alongside a retirement community.”
