Graham Barton achieved a 70% success rate at his rostrum debut for Royal Insurance Property Services on 20 March at the Royal Clarence Hotel, Exeter. The catalogue comprised 18 West Country residential and commercial lots.
Barton expected sales after to push the success rate to 80% or more.
Royal Insurance Property Services takes in the two well-established auction houses of Allen & Harris and Gribble Booth & Taylor.
The nine lots knocked down in the room raised a total of £262,250. The highest price achieved was £76,500, which was paid for a three-bedroom detached house in Highbridge, near Minehead in Somerset.
According to Barton, the price was a “client-pleasing” 25% above the reserve.
