Barwood Developments has bought the former Ear & Throat Hospital, Edmund Street, Birmingham from Linden Homes for redevelopment as offices. Barwood is understood to have paid around £2m for the listed building.
Renamed 1 Eleven Edmund Street, the redevelopment will provide 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) of offices, with parking for 21 cars. It will be available for occupation in March 2002.
Marcus Little of Barwood Developments said: “When completed, 1 Eleven Edmund Street will provide what is probably the only opportunity for a medium-sized professional firm to occupy a self-contained HQ office building in the city centre.”
FPDSavills has been retained as letting agent for the building.
