Barwood wins Hawks Park consent

Barwood Developments has secured planning consent for the first phase of a 90-acre site at Garforth, Leeds.

The development, to be known as Hawks Park, will offer a mix of industrial and office accommodation, delivered over two phases.

Barwood has secured detailed planning consent for the first phase, comprising 195,000 sq ft of distribution/warehouse space, along with 120,000 sq ft of office space spread across nine buildings ranging in size from 6,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft.

Work will begin on site in late 2009 with the first units available for occupation by mid-2010.

The second phase at Hawks Park has outline planning permission in place and may accommodate a single building of up to 750,000 sq ft.

Richard Bowen, managing director of Barwood, said: “With planning permission in place we are now in a position to respond quickly to occupier demands and deliver space in time for the predicted market recovery.”
