Men’s streetwear brand Base is to return to its East End roots after a 21-year absence with two new stores at Westfield Stratford City.
Base and Boys Base will be located on the lower ground floor of Westfield Stratford City adjacent to the kids’ zone and will account for 1,600 sq ft and 1,300 sq ft respectively. The two shops will connect internally. Brands expected to be showcased include Ralph Lauren, Converse, Firetrap, Armani Junior, Gi-Gio, Levi’s and Vans.
Base’s previous Stratford store closed after 25 years of trading on the high street after it found trading opportunities limited.
Marc Granditer, managing director at Base, said: “Base is about to return to Stratford with a mixture of nostalgia and confidence. A new Stratford and a new Base, but the same values as always. We are proud to play a small part in the regeneration of the local area with Westfield Stratford City and look forward to renewing old acquaintances as well as making new friends.”
DTZ and CBRE is advising Westfield.
