Hines has hired Battersea Power Station’s Tom Cazelet to lead on its £1bn Blackfriars Road scheme.
Cazelet, who joins as a development director, is one of four new hires appointed to bolster Hines’ project management and development teams. Cazalet will work on its development at 18 Blackfriars Road, SE1, which Hines bought from Black Pearl for £209m last October.
He spent the previous eight years at Battersea Power Station, the last four of which saw him working as development director.
Other hires include Chris Bunn, who joins as a development manager focused on Hines’ London mixed-use projects. He has spent the past eight years at property and construction consultant McBains.
Catherine Turnbull joins Hines UK as an associate in the development management team. She previously worked in Gardiner & Theobald’s project management team, where she has spent the past four years overseeing all aspects of commercial development projects across sectors and regions. Turnbull will also focus on mixed-use developments in London.
And Andrew Flynn joins Hines as a project manager. He will focus on the delivery of Hines’ fit-out of the Grainhouse, its office property on Drury Lane, WC2, which will serve as the company’s new European and UK headquarters. Flynn has previously overseen fit-outs for Morgan Stanley, UBS, Barclays and Clifford Chance.
Ross Blair, senior managing director and country head for Hines UK, said: “The Hines UK team has a diverse and exciting pipeline of development and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors. Building on the existing expertise of our development and project management teams, each of these appointments will further strengthen our project delivery capabilities, ensuring our new developments in London and beyond continue to be completed to the highest possible standards and provide the maximum possible benefit for the local communities in which we invest.”
