Richard Branson’s Virgin group, bus operator Stagecoach and Sea Containers, the Orient Express transport group are set to do battle over which of them will win the right to run Intercity West Coast.
The three are today expected to be revealed as the only bidders shortlisted from more than 10 to run the 15-year franchise by the Office of Passenger Rail Franchising.
