The BBC is vying with property companies Chelsfield and Helical Bar to buy a development site in White City.
The site, owned by Dairy Crest, has planning permission for 1m sq ft of offices.
The BBC wants the space for a new HQ (which will be developed by Trillium), Chelsfield wants the site as an adjunct to its White City shopping centre, while Helical has bid with private developer GHP group.
