Cushman & Wakefield’s John Forrester has been appointed as the new president of the British Council for Offices.

Forrester, who is EMEA chief executive at C&W, takes over from Argent’s David Partridge.

Speaking as chairman of the BCO Annual Conference in Amsterdam earlier this year, Forrester said the sector needed to “embrace disruption” to become more “productive, creative and dynamic”.

“It is time to challenge ourselves and to recalibrate to ensure we continue to be at the forefront of innovation in the design and delivery of our buildings,” he added.

Forrester’s appointment will see Ken Shuttleworth, founding director of Make Architects, become BCO senior-vice president. Katrina Kostic Samen, managing partner of KKS Strategy, will become junior-vice president.
