Be Living relaunched as EcoWorld London

Willmott Dixon’s Be Living has relaunched as EcoWorld London, following the Malaysian developer’s recent completion of a 70% stake in the company.

The combined entity hopes to deliver over 10,000 new homes across London and the South East.

EcoWorld London will see EcoWorld International move into the mid-market, following high-end projects with Ballymore, including Embassy Gardens, SW11, Wardian, E14, and London City Island, E14.

Initially, EcoWorld London will develop 12 sites in Greater London and the South East, with homes for sale as well as build to rent. The sites have an estimated gross development value of over £2.6bn.

The company will also actively pursue new opportunities across the region.

Sir Edward Lister (fourth from the right) said EcoWorld London can help with the housing crisis.

Speaking at the Malaysian-themed launch event at the Institute of Directors, SW1, Sir Edward Lister, chairman of EcoWorld London, said: “The capital is facing a chronic housing shortage.

“The launch of EcoWorld London will play a significant part in alleviating this, ensuring the delivery of much-needed new homes that are accessible to those on middle incomes.

“By combining the construction and middle-market expertise of Willmott Dixon with the vision of EcoWorld International’s best-in-class international development experience and operations, the new entity is well placed to serve the local market and the broader international audience that calls London home.”

Tan Sri Liew, executive vice-chairman of EcoWorld International, said, “London is the most important international market for the EcoWorld brand and we continue to firmly believe in the growth prospects of the residential property market here.”

What is EcoWorld International?

Its core business involves property development outside Malaysia.

It has six ongoing projects in the UK, and two in Australia, with a total gross development value of £3.2bn.

Including ongoing projects, the company has 18 projects in its development pipeline.
