Outline plans for a £120m leisure development in the North Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough have been submitted by Benchmark Properties.
The 50-acre (20.23ha) Northstead Manor Gardens scheme will include a hotel, a health and fitness club, shops and restaurants as well as a significant residential element, including a mix of private housing and self-catering holiday accommodation.
The centrepiece of the scheme, based on a development agreement with Scarborough council, will be a water park housed under a futuristic dome.
Planning consent is expected by mid 2003.
Joint agents on the scheme are the Leeds offices of Knight Frank and Donaldsons.
