Fenwick has agreed to buy Bentalls for £70.8m.
The deal will see Fenwick expand from eight department stores to 14.
Bentalls has stores in Kingston, Surrey, Worthing, West Sussex, Ealing West London, Bracknell, Berkshire, Tonbridge, Kent and Thurrock, Essex. Fenwicks stores include Bond Street, in Londons West End, Brent Cross, north-west London, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, Kent and Windsor, Berkshire.
Fenwick plans to keep the Bentalls name.
