Hammersmith & Fulham planning officers have recommended the council approve Berkeley Homes’ 527-home scheme at Centre House in White City, W12.
Berkeley’s St James subsidiary submitted a detailed planning application for the redevelopment of the 1.4-acre site in October.
Plans will see demolition of all existing buildings and construction of two buildings of 22 and 32 storeys. The development comprises 527 homes, with 15,000 sq ft of flexible commercial floorspace and infrastructure work to connect the scheme to the adjoining White City Living site that St James is developing on the western boundary.
It is proposed that 35% of the apartments at Centre House will be affordable, under intermediate rent tenure. These will be designed for employees of Imperial College London.
St James agreed to acquire the site from Imperial College in Janaury 2017.
It is located east of Wood Lane, between White City station and the resi-led White City Living scheme on the site of a former Marks & Spencer warehouse. St James will deliver 1,845 homes with commercial floorspace and an Exhibition Park at this scheme.
Across the two sites, St James could deliver 2,400 homes.
Hammersmith & Fulham’s planning committee has included the scheme on its agenda for the 2 April meeting. The application can be viewed at the council’s planning portal, planning ref. 2018/03058/FUL.
