The property market hotspot in the third quarter was Bexley in southeast London, according to a survey by eMoov.co.uk.
Demand there reached 77%, calculated on the basis of the number of properties sold versus the number on the market. Its popularity is likely down to demand by commuters, which is also a factor for other hotspots, including Watford (72%) and Reading and Sutton (both 68%).
At the opposite end of the scale, Aberdeenshire was the coldest spot, with demand of 10% reflecting the slump in the oil sector.
