Versace and Paul Smith are taking the last space in the 1,393m2 (15,000 sq ft) extension to Bicester Village.
It is Paul Smith’s first unit in a factory outlet centre, and it will trade from 139m2 (1,500 sq ft). Versace is taking 464m2 (5,000 sq ft). Rents at the scheme are £269 per m2 (£25 per sq ft), or 12.5% of turnover. Gross sales last year were £35m.
Scott Malkin of Value Retail, part-owner and manager of the scheme, said that the retailers’ decisions were an “acknowledgement that outlet centres can add value through the concentration of tenants, rather than trading from a free-standing outlet unit”.
Malkin’s team has also moved Edinburgh Crystal into the former Museum Merchandise store in order to bring in Blazer as a tenant.
