Bicycle Therapeutics signs 10-year Granta Park lease

Pioneering cancer medicine firm Bicycle Therapeutics has taken 45,000 sq ft space at Granta Park development in Cambridge, on a 10-year lease.

The company will move to BioMed’s flagship campus alongside anti-ageing start-up Altos, which has also signed a 10-year lease for a 51,000 sq ft in the Portway building.

The move comes as demand for Cambridge labs and offices jumps to a seven-year high, while supply narrows to 0.5%.

BioMed, a Blackstone portfolio company, has now fully leased all available space at the Portway building, which underwent modernisation to incorporate new flexible layouts and fully-fitted, grade-A lab and office space.

Matt Smith, director of UK markets at BioMed, said: “BioMed Realty recognises it has a special responsibility to create spaces that nurture life-saving research and innovation, and the company is committed to supporting the growth of the UK’s life sciences industry by providing high-quality research and workspace in locations that are underpinned by government, academia and private investment.”

Cheffins and Cushman & Wakefield advised BioMed on the leases.
