Knight Frank has called for bids for a development opportunity with the potential for a 31-storey tower overlooking Old Street roundabout, EC1.
The agent, acting on behalf of satellite company Inmarsat, is seeking offers in excess of £15m for 250 Old Street, which is currently home to Andrews Office Furniture.
An unconsented proposal designed by Rolfe Judd Architects envisages a tall, slender 120,000 sq ft building that could include office, hotel and residential uses.
The freehold site, which currently generates a passing rent of £185,000 pa, sits between Inmarsat’s headquarters at 99 City Road and Albert House at 255-260 City Road.
Inmarsat, whose headquarters is now owned by London & Regional, originally bought the site for potential overflow space.
