Laing O’Rourke and its consortium partners are set this week to submit a bid for the construction of the HS2 train line between Birmingham and rural Warwickshire, the most complicated and expensive part of the project.
The 30-mile stretch of the train line includes viaducts and long tunnels, as well as up to 80 bridges. Laing O’Rourke will say that it can supply precast bridges from an off-site facility that will minimise disruption.
Bids for seven packages of construction work, estimated at £12bn, are due by the end of this week.
