Bidwells ahead of the pack in Cambridge

Long-running champion is in front in latest office agents league, writes Oi Yun Li

Bidwells has maintained its dominance of the Cambridge office market, disposing of 676,971 sq ft in the 12 months to June, according to EGi Research.

Two deals totalling 343,000 sq ft made up almost half of its total disposals – 188,000 sq ft prelet to ARM at Peterhouse Technology Park and 155,000 sq ft prelet to Illumina at Granta Park – though it still managed 62 other deals.

Savills retained second place, disposing of 184,142 sq ft, including 31,000 sq ft let to Horizon Discovery at Cambridge Research Park, which Bidwells also acted on.

Overall take-up rocketed to 949,409 sq ft, up by 66.3% on last year, but the number of deals fell by almost 10%.

Going up

A 94,500 sq ft prelet to Gilead at Granta Park by Dodson Jones and Cushman & Wakefield helped to lift Dodson Jones five places to third this year.

Going down

Carter Jonas was down five places from last year, its total of 13,543 sq ft was less than a quarter of its previous level.
