Big Beat plans 1,301 sq m redevelopment of Elite Picture Theatre in Nottingham, East Midlands

Glasgow-based night club operator, Big Beat, has won planning consent to convert the former Elite Picture Theatre on Parliament Street in Nottingham into a nightclub.

Big Beat has taken a 35-year lease at an undisclosed rent on the 465 sq m (5,000 sq ft) auditorium and 836 sq m (9,000 sq ft) on four upper floors.

The deal is conditional on Big Beat getting listed building consent from the DOE for the £1.5m redevelopment. It also depends on the night club obtaining a liquor licence.

The ground floor retail element of the Elite Theatre is let to five tenants, including Escom Computers, and generates £200,000pa income.
