Hotel operator Cosmo Fry and film star backer John Malkovich are to open their third Big Sleep hotel in the UK after buying the former Wish Tower Hotel, Eastbourne.
Fry, a member of the Fry’s chocolate family, already operates hotels in Cardiff and Cheltenham.
Following a major refurbishment, the Eastbourne hotel will provide 42 rooms when it opens next month.
Fry said, “The Big Sleep concept was born out of a growing discontent felt by myself and friends, including John Malkovich, over the often exorbitant rates being charged for dull, homely and conventional hotel accommodation.
“We felt the time had come to create a hotel chain which would provide stylish accommodation at affordable prices.”
The Big Sleep is a budget hotel chain which has hotels in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Exeter.
