Big Yellow gets the nod for King’s Cross site

Big Yellow Group has been given the green light to build a 106,000 sq ft self-storage facility in King’s Cross, N1.

The store, which is expected to open in spring 2023, will be “significantly larger” than its standard facilities and have a double basement.

Chief executive James Gibson said the planning process and land assembly for the project had been “long and complicated”.

He added that company expected to invest an additional £28m to complete the store.

“The £4.5m of net operating income that we are projecting the store will generate at stabilisation will be highly accretive to earnings,” he said.
