Biggest aquarium in the world proposed for Beds

The National Institute for Research into Aquatic Habitats has unveiled plans to build the world’s largest aquarium on the site of a disused brickworks near Ampthill and Flitwick.

The £220m Bedfordshire complex aims to become Europe’s leading research centre for conservation and biosciences.

Sir Nicholas Grimshaw will design it. He was responsible for the £80m Eden Project, in Cornwall.
