Industry professionals are used to looking at views from the inside, but LandAid’s London Towerathlon gave some the opportunity to take in the City skyline with the wind in their hair as they abseiled down the 539ft Broadgate Tower, EC2.
Thrillseekers either braved the abseil down the skyscraper, completed a 39-storey stair climb and a 10-minute sprint cycle, or took part in one of the three as part of a team at the annual challenge on 18 September.
Some of the 200 participants sported fancy dress for the event, which was organised by LandAid and the Chartered Surveyors’ Training Trust and was sponsored by Savills.
For the second year in a row, Bilfinger GVA emerged as the runaway winner, with Cushman & Wakefield coming in second and JLL third.
Competitors raised £40,000, with Grosvenor the stand-out fundraiser.
