Billboard sites prove popular at Strettons sale

A portfolio of sites being sold on behalf of outdoor advertising company JCDecaux attracted competitive bids at Strettons’ September auction.

Used as locations for billboards, a freehold plot of land in Manor Park, E12 (pictured), achieved the highest selling price of the portfolio, fetching £649,000.

A 940 sq ft plot in Northampton sold for £19,500, while a 105 sq ft sliver of land in Hull sold for £4,500.

“With most of the JCDecaux lots being offered for the first time in living memory, they attracted high-spirited bidding,” said Philip Waterfield, Strettons’ auctions director.

In total, Strettons raised £5m from the sale, selling 29 of the 38 lots offered.

Strettons’ next auction will be held on 28 October at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2.
