The London street known as Billionaire’s Row is being transformed as mansions make way for apartment blocks.
Bishops Avenue, N2, has long been associated with London’s super-rich, with some homes on the private road valued at up to £350m. But that will change over the next three years as more are torn down to make way for blocks of flats.
A group of 10 homes on the street, bought by a Saudi family during the Gulf War but never occupied, is now being developed as flats after being bought by a developer for £70m over a decade ago. A further five mansions on the row are also set to be torn down and transformed into more than 350 homes.
