Bin Ladens buy Tuscan marble

Construction giants the Bin Laden family have bought a controlling share in the firm that quarries Tuscany’s famed Carrera marble.

A 50 percent stake in the Italian quarry, which provided Michaelangelo with the marble for David, as well as the building blocks for Trajan’s column and Marble Arch, was bought by the Saudi Binladen Group for £35m last week.
