Birmingham Council is about to put on the market the long leasehold interest of a key mixed-use site off Broad Street with development potential for up to 1,096 sq m (11,797 sq ft). Already, licensed leisure operators and residential developers like Crosby Homes have expressed interest in the site.
The council’s economic development officer Peter Jones anticipates the site going for leisure development but he has not ruled out other uses like office, retail and residential. Whoever buys the site though will have to retain a listed, former bank building on Sheepcote Street which is being used as a bar.
