Birmingham debut for Miss Macaroon

miss-macaroon-570pxMiss Macaroon, a patisserie specialising in macarons, has opened its first UK standalone store, in Birmingham.

The 320 sq ft unit – which includes the city’s first dedicated prosecco bar – is located in Birmingham’s Great Western Arcade.

A five-year lease has been agreed at a rent of circa £20,000 pa.

Rosie Ginday, founder and managing director, said: “We have been working towards this moment for some time so I’m genuinely proud that we have been able to bring the first Miss Macaroon store to the people of Birmingham, my home city.”

The company plans to open a flagship store in every major UK city including Leeds, London, Newcastle, Cambridge, Manchester and Southampton, plus around five satellite stores in each location. The firm is also targeting high-footfall transport hubs and premium mid-mall sites in commuter towns.

Miss Macaroon is also due to open its second outlet imminently,at Hammerson’s new Victoria Gate scheme in Leeds.

A total of three sites are planned by the end of the 2017 financial year, a further 21 by 2019, and a total of 103 over the next five years.
