Birmingham’s first £1m flat hits the market

Birmingham’s first £1m penthouse apartment is up for grabs at Marcity Developments Ltd’s £50m city centre scheme, Newhampton Lofts.

The flat is part of an extensive redevelopment of the former Lucas manufacturing plant in Birmingham’s jewellery quarter, originally built in the 1920s. It comprises 186 loft apartments, with prices ranging from £100,000 to £1m, and 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) commercial element, including a restaurant, shops, bars and a health and fitness centre.

Adrian Willett of DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, joint agents with Bache Treharne and Robert Powell & Co, said: “This price won’t be easily achieved, but we have every confidence in the high quality of the scheme. If it’s achieved it will put Birmingham on the map for city centre living.”
