The Association of British Insurers has estimated the tornado that struck Birmingham caused up to £25m worth of damage.
It said insurers had reacted quickly enabling claims to be submitted as soon as possible.
Insurers had contacted customers living in streets known to have been badly hit to advise them on early claims.
