Bitcoin bids for Candy flat worry cybercrime fighters

A senior cybercrime officer has warned that selling flats for bitcoin could create opportunities for criminal gangs.

Nigel Leary, a director at the National Crime Agency, raised the concerns after Nick Candy said he would accept offers made in bitcoin and ethereum for his 18,000 sq ft One Hyde Park penthouse. The five-bed Knightsbridge flat is on sale for £175m.

Private jet operators have reported the a growing number of flights are being paid for using the cryptocurrency.
