Flex office space provider BizSpace chief executive Gareth Evans has stepped down from his position, while ex-head of Regus’ UK business John Spencer has taken the hot seat.
Evans has held the reigns at the business for nearly 15 years, and in a statement said he leaves the company in “a strong position with an excellent leadership team in place”.
Spencer will join the business today, leaving his role as chief executive at Landmark. He has also held several chief executive positions at businesses, including ABM UK and MWB Business Exchange.
It is not his first time in the driving seat at a flex space business. He was also Regus’ UK chief executive for over a year between February 2013 and September 2014.
The announcement comes following the appointment of William Rucker as chairman in May as the company seeks to “further strengthen its board and management team to capitalise on changing dynamics in the market for UK workspace”, a company statement said.
Rucker said: “The UK working environment is undergoing a fundamental secular shift, with changing preferences and substantial UK SME growth fuelling increasing demand for more flexible alternatives.
“John is an exceptional leader, with a demonstrable track record of success in the industry, and the best person to help capture this opportunity. I would like to thank Gareth for his dedication and commitment over the past 15 years, helping to grow BizSpace into the successful business it is today.”
