BL signs Hampshire tenants

Whiteley-centre-Fareham-570

Three businesses have signed leases for retail and leisure space at the Whiteley shopping centre in Fareham, Hampshire.

British Land and Universities Superannuation Scheme said indoor climbing operator Rock Up, and retailers Glow & Co and Fussy Nation, had agreed deals at the centre.

Rock Up has signed for 4,468 sq ft on a 10-year lease, Fussy Nation has agreed a five-year lease for 1,707 sq ft, and Glow & Co will take 1,707 sq ft on a five-year lease.

Claire Barber, head of shopping centre asset management at British Land, said: “We are taking more new retail and leisure operators out of town and introducing innovative new concepts that will encourage people to visit more frequently and stay for longer.”

Work has also started on an £18m leisure extension at the Whiteley centre, which will open in summer 2015.
