Post-Christmas sales are becoming a thing o the past, according to John Lewis, as pre-Christmas sales are leaving no bargains in store.
Sales at John Lewis fell by 1.4% over the Christmas week to £126.2m, dragged down by a 14.7% fall in electrical goods.
The store has blamed “shifting patterns in customer shopping”, but acknowledged that the sales had been spread further with its strong performance over Black Friday as the end of November.
