Blackburn council selects developers for 13,006 sq m leisure park

Blackburn Borough Council has selected Kingspark Developments and Property Solutions to develop a 13,006 sq m (140,000 sq ft) leisure park on the eastern outskirts of the town.

The Greenbank Leisure park will be anchored by a multiplex cinema. In addition there will be a ten-pin bowling centre, a nightclub, pub, family entertainment centre and several restaurants. Discussions with potential operators are already under way.

A detailed planning application has been made, and construction is due to start early in 1997, with completion scheduled for late 1997.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe acted for the developers and Chesterton represented the council. Both firms have been retained as joint letting agents.
