The £140m Palestra scheme (pictured) in Southwark has been formally launched by a joint venture of Mallory Clifford’s Blackfriars Investments and Royal London Asset Management (RLAM), at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London.
The 420,000 sq ft (39,018 sq m) spec scheme, in Southwark’s South Central business district, SE1, is architect Will Alsop’s first major new-build commercial scheme in the UK.
The 12-storey office scheme is planned for Blackfriars Road, directly opposite Southwark station.
Blackfriars and RLAM have forged a limited partnership to develop the scheme, which is set for completion by the end of 2005.
