BlackRock has said staff must be in the office for at least four days a week as it clamps down on working from home.
The world’s largest asset manager, which employees around 20,000 staff across more than 30 countries, said that from September staff would be able to work from home for just one day a week.
The order will provide modest relief to owners of offices and adjacent businesses that have suffered as working from home persists. Office occupancy in New York City, where BlackRock has its 970,000 sq ft Hudson Yards HQ, is still less than 50%.
