BlackRock plans £55m Coventry logistics hub turnaround

BlackRock UK Property Fund has lodged proposals for the redevelopment of a 16.4-acre logistics complex in Coventry, Midlands.

The investor has a long lease on the site from the landowner, Coventry City Council, and has appointed Stoford as the scheme’s development manager.

The proposed scheme has a gross development value of £55m and is located on a brownfield site at Middlemarch Business Park, Siskin Parkway West.

According to the plans, the existing 1970s building, occupied by logistics operator Unipart, will be demolished and replaced with a new 302,000 sq ft facility. Unipart will occupy the building upon completion.

Dan Gallagher, joint managing director of Stoford, said: “This scheme presents the opportunity to secure the long-term future of the site through a replacement complex which meets modern, operational needs. Our proposals not only support economic growth but will deliver an attractive landscaped environment and a better place for people to work.”
