Blackstone poaches Citi sheds man

Blackstone Advisory Partners has hired Citigroup’s Nick Tansley to head up European industrials.

Tansley, who led Citi’s diversified industrials team in EMEA, will be based in London.

He has also worked as head of European industrials at Nomura, with Flemings and with Lehman Brothers. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand.

Blackstone advisory partners global head John Studzinski said: “Nick’s breadth and depth of knowledge across the European industrials sector will be extremely accretive to our global efforts led by Karl Knapp in New York. The industrials sector is one of our key areas of excellence and we are delighted that Nick is joining the team.”

Knapp, who heads up Blackstone Advisory Partners’ global industrials practice, added: “We are thrilled to have Nick joining our team and his deep sector knowledge, coupled with his willingness to give honest, objective advice, will have a material impact on our business.”
