Asset manager Blackstone has said that Britain will be “the winner” after Brexit.
It predicts that the pound will rally and stock market will rise once a workable exit deal is secured, adding that of all European markets, only Britain will outperform the United States and Asia.
Blackstone, which currently has $554bn under management, lists the Brexit prediction as one of it’s “ten surprises” for 2020, saying it is a seemingly unlikely event that is more likely to occur than not.
Blackstone’s track record on this topic is not faultless, however. On its 2019 list of “surprises” it predicted that a second referendum would be called and Britain would vote to remain in the EU.
