Blackstone has secured two new independent food and drink outlets at St Katharine Docks, the waterside business and leisure community, located adjacent to the Tower of London, EC3.
Emilia’s Crafted Pasta and Traders Wine have both signed leases at Ivory House, the building in the heart of St Katharine Docks.
Emilia’s Crafted Pasta is taking 600 sq ft on a 10-year lease and Traders Wine has agreed a deal for a 1,150 sq ft shop also on a 10-year lease.
Emilia’s Crafted Pasta is an independent Italian pasta restaurant serving up fresh, handmade, ‘family recipe’ pasta dishes.
Traders Wine is a new wine merchant and bar, which has drawn on the inspiration of the docks’ history of merchant ships sailing up the Thames and trading in the docks. It is part of a boutique family, including operations in Shepherd Market Mayfair, Pall Mall and Sloane Square.
Emilia’s Crafted Pasta and Traders Wine join existing independent operators such as Tom’s Kitchen, Bravas Tapas and artisan coffee shop White Mulberries.
Danny Egan, senior portfolio manager, Blackstone Property Management, said: “Emilia’s Crafted Pasta and Traders Wine represent a perfect fit for the docks as they complement the existing diverse offering already present and will help to build St Katharine Docks’ reputation as a popular leisure destination to residents and visitors of London alike.”
Andrew Macleod, founder of Emilia’s Crafted Pasta, said: “We are thrilled to open our first restaurant in St Katharine Docks which, with its picturesque atmosphere and central London location, is the ideal place to bring pasta to life.”
Nathan Lowry, owner of Traders Wine, said: “Combining an historic ambience with a modern style of selling wine, we are excited to offer something unique and complement the existing independent retailers at St Katharine Docks. We are now open for business and are delighted to have become part of this flourishing community.”
