Blairs’ company bought flats ahead of tax change

Oldbury Residential, owned by Cherie Blair and son Euan, took out a mortgage on four properties in Manchester’s Whalley Range last month, ahead of the introduction of a stamp-duty surcharge on buy-to-let properties and second homes.

The flats are each likely to rent for around £500 a month.
