LISTEN: Former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg has topped out his firm’s new landmark European HQ in the City of London.
The 1.1m sq ft building occupies a 3.2-acre site close to the Bank of England, EC2, and sits on a significant archaeological site, the ancient Temple of Mithras.
Bloomberg bought the site from Legal & General in 2010. The Foster + Partners-designed scheme is comprised of two interlinked buildings. Bloomberg said: “This building will help keep us growing in London and will help London keep growing as a thriving financial, technology and media hub.”
