HS2 has appointed British Land’s head of office leasing, James Danby, as its head of commercial development for Birmingham stations.
The body confirmed today that Danby had been hired to lead commercial development at Birmingham Curzon Street and Birmingham Interchange.
Starting in August, he will be joined later in the year at HS2 by a head of commercial development, leading on the wider Euston regeneration, and a head of commercial development focused on commercialising space within the stations.
Tom Venner, HS2’s commercial development director said: “I’m pleased to welcome James to the team. The arrival of HS2 in Birmingham will provide a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unlock new jobs, homes and opportunities across the West Midlands.
“James’s experience of driving complex and demanding property developments and his expert knowledge of the UK market make him a valuable addition to the team and I look forward to working with him as we develop what will be some of the most exciting property opportunities anywhere in the country.”
