British Land’s head of office development Rob Samuel has been appointed chief development officer at the Battersea Power Station Development Company.
He will start in January 2018 and replaces David Twohig, who is leaving the company to start his own consultancy practice.
Twohig has been at the Battersea Power Station Development Company for nearly 10 years, working from the original masterplan to the current phases under development.
Samuel has been at British Land for more than 12 years, completing mixed-use projects in London and across the UK.
Battersea Power Station Development Company chief executive Rob Tincknell said: “Rob has fantastic development experience from his time at British Land. He will be a great addition to the team and I have no doubt will enjoy being part this extraordinary project.”
The first phase of the 42-acre redevelopment of Battersea Power Station was finished at the end of 2016, when flats were handed over to their new owners.
Mace was appointed as construction manager on phase two in August, and work on the rebuilding of the power station’s chimneys is now complete. The power station building is expected to be completed in 2020, while the Northern Line extension is expected to open in 2020.
