Blueprint for regeneration of Cambridge suburb signed off

Cambridge City Council has got the go-ahead for a blueprint for the regeneration of East Barnwell in Cambridge.

East Barnwell is a large neighbourhood to the north-east of the city which is recognised as being in need of regeneration. The strategies within the blueprint will help support its renewal in relation to connectivity, new homes, community facilities and public realm.

The project was funded through the government’s One Public Estate programme and involved two substantial consultation exercises, as well as ongoing engagement with residents and businesses.

The framework sets out a strategy to 2030 and aims to form the catalyst for wider estate regeneration that will deliver new homes and improve others, plus new community and leisure facilities.

Carter Jonas advised the council on the new framework.
