Bluewater puts Côte on the menu

Parisian bistro chain Côte is to open a 4,500 sq ft restaurant at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.

It will open in early spring and joins Loch Fyne and Carluccio’s in The Village, situated off the lower Guildhall between John Lewis and House of Fraser.

The restaurant will offer Bluewater’s guests its full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, seasonal dishes and house specialities, such as crème brule and crème caramel.

Bluewater’s footfall in 2010 stood at 28.1m – the highest in its history.

Steve Seager, property director at Côte, said: “Bluewater is the perfect addition for Côte. The Côte and Bluewater brands are highly complementary and share a commitment to providing a unique atmosphere and a level of service that is quite unlike anywhere else.

“Bluewater is also a very exciting place to be. It is well-established and very popular, and the forthcoming Events Venue is a new dimension that will attract additional customers from a very large area.”

Guy Thomas, head of leasing at Lend Lease Retail, added: “Côte is a key addition to Bluewater’s dining offer, and makes an important contribution to Bluewater’s day-out destination status. Dining has always been central to Bluewater’s success, and in the next few months we will be announcing a number of other premium brands.”

Shelley Sandzer, CBRE and DTZ acted for Bluewater; Côte was unrepresented.
